This book was a bit difficult to get through. It was hard to stay focused on the words and to follow the story of each color. I felt a bit like I was reading a textbook. There were a few nuggets of information I learned from this book that were pretty interesting, but not enough to make me recommend the book to others.

Really this book is probably a four star from a reading point of view. However my edition is so enticing with the colour borders that it scrapes a five

Interesting! It was a bit much to sit and read at once, but still a good read.

in the xcvbrary, but listened as an audiobook & love how this is organized (each major color is broken into more specific pigments), & such great information for the color obsessed!

I have enjoyed this book, I was expecting something more technical about colours, something more useful for IT, but from the artist point of view it was a great thing to read.
In the book you can read about history, art, how the colours were made, literary references and more.
Only thing, that was missing were pictures about the painting and things, that author was writing about. But everything could by found with Google search.

A very interesting book! Went over social history of colors, history of the creation of the color, and other interesting facts. I enjoyed reading a few shades of a color at a time and then talking about them with my husband or friends.
