I started this book and was like wtf am I reading? It took a lil bit to get into it, but oh man once you get into it was fantastic! It was so expertly woven, and was beautiful. I for one would never call this a cozy read. In fact it left me crying (in public no less!) when I finished it. It wasnt sad tears per say. But idk. Very emotional, and just the beauty of how strangers can influence others. I was very blessed to read two back to back 5 star reads.

At first it felt a lot like a sort of Douglas Adams style narration book that I was down for - but it hit some big low points with suffering through the interrogation sequences and long drawn out moments in the middle. But finally when everything comes together, it’s so beautifully down it’s still hard to not recommend.

The first three quarters of the book was a solid 3 stars, but the way the ending tied up was enough to round it up.  It may have been the translation I was having trouble with, but I found the writing style hard to enjoy and settle into a lot of the time. I kept thinking the book was over when it wasn’t.  There was a lot that annoyed me, but looking back at all my highlights, there was apparently a lot I liked also.
