Such an incredible finale to this trilogy. It was action-packed right from the start and, just like the rest of the series, kept me totally locked in the entire time. I would read a couple hundred pages at a time if I had a chance to sit down for a good chunk of time and just read. I was fully expecting there to be deaths (this is a Les Mis retelling, after all), and while I was prepared for some of them, I was DEFINITELY unprepared for others and it broke my heart. I'm just glad i managed to finish it on my lunch break at work without crying. The ten-year skip for the epilogue, while it was short, put such a nice bow on our main trio of characters and was the peaceful ending that they all deserved. I cannot recommend this series enough, it's so incredible and beautifully written and so immersive. Love love love

This series is really well done and deserves more recognition!!
This book was not my fave of the series but still a fine conclusion overall. There are some things I wish had been expanded on more, and some subplots that I felt were not entirely necessary. But so much happened in this book, I understand why things had to be cut or glazed over.

Enjoyed the final book in the system divine series, but the ending felt a little forced. There was a lot of conflict and more conflict and more conflict and then suddenly everything was solved.
I’m torn between 4 and 5 stars because I really do love this series and I think this a triumphant finale but this series is why I hate love triangles/squares, the one time I let myself get invested in one it ends with the stupidest option.
ANYWAY this series really is very good despite the odd overly cheesy Les Mis reference. I listened to all of them on audiobook and have to applaud the cast who all portrayed their characters excellently. If you like Les Mis, Star Wars, The Hunger Games - give these books a go.

I am SO MAD that Marcellus emotionally gaslit Chatine this whole book and GOT AWAY WITH IT?? Get in the bin. Etienne was right there and although I thought the twist that HE was the Eponine counterpart was really clever (and I cried at THAT scene) I’m mad that he died to pave the way for Marcellus who never deserved Chatine. I guess Alouette just stopped being part of the love square altogether at some point, even though Marcellus was still flip-flopping between them until Etienne suddenly wasn't an obstacle anymore. Chatine spent so much of the books being defined by her hopeless commitment to Marcellus, a commitment she became aware was unhealthy for her, and I really wish the ending had been that she overcame that and went on to live a fulfilled life with her brother helping raise the other orphans or working within the Sisterhood with Alouette.ANYWAY this series really is very good despite the odd overly cheesy Les Mis reference.
