What is the most valuable thing in life? Time, there's never enough of it. When Michael Met Mina is a terrible, poorly written, juvenile book. I deeply regret reading this book in its entirety. There are millions and millions of other books that one could better spend their time with. I couldn't recommend this any less.

I’ve read Randa Abdel-Fatteh’s other books whilst I was in high school and enjoyed them! This book is also set in a high school setting, so I couldn’t relate as much, but it was a quick read that looked at modern issues without getting too dark and heavy.

I enjoyed it, but it felt like it was missing something somewhere that I just can't pinpoint. On the other hand, it was quite informative because I didn't realize that places outside the US had the same problems with immigrants and refugees. I can't speak for the situation in Australia, but a lot of the dialogue sounded true to what I hear here in the US.
