RIP Lester. I would give this book 3.5 if I could just for killing him of that was so unnecessary. The background with nellie was wild but cool. Glad she isn’t evil. Also glad they finally know who the man in black is and they finally get the background on the madrigals. It’s pretty clear they won’t be able to get all the adults together but most of the kids have been shown to be more sympathetic towards Dan and Amy. This last book is going to be interesting

I did not see that coming. The absolute tragedy, or the big reveal at the end. I don't know how to process this. Also, FINALLY SOME ANSWERS. Thank goodness.

I did not like this one as much as the other ones, even though everyone else in my family loved this one.

I COMPLETELY loved this book, I think this one is my favorite one on here. First of all, we get to learn about Pirates, I mean I thought Egypt and Roman history was cool but that wasn't nearly as fun as pirate history. I found myself way more invested in this book than I was in the other books because the history was fun but the drama was also fun, there wasn't a single dull moment in this book, not in the 'always an action scene' type of way like in 'One False Note' but in the always interesting and something is always going on here and the characters just seemed more realistic and I completely loved it. Amy and Dan's relationship was way better and deeper in this book, you could really feel that sibling love and so was their relationship with Nellie and we finally get to learn about their family history and this is hands down the best book in this series yet.
