It just wasn’t for me… the disjointed storytelling was really disorienting for me and I couoldn’t really connect to anything. Didn’t feel scared whatsoever. Most of the time I was just trying so hard to understand who was talking and what was going on that I couldn’t understand what was happening :/ I’ll admit the prose were beautiful and there were some great quotes about life included throughout the story but it wasn’t enough for me to keep reading it. I have a big tbr so I can’t be wasting it on books I’m reading just for aesthetic purposes

Weird. So weird. Can't tell the dead from the living, entire villages peopled with ghosts. Beautiful and macabre surrealist imagery. I'm glad I didn't attempt to read this in Spanish because it took all the attention of my English language brain to follow it.
