This book was kind of torturous to read. It was…dark and intense. I would say 3.5 stars, but no more.

I loved that Danner took care of HR and King when they were kids and enjoyed the backstory to their relationship. I loved that he always came to save her and their bond that grew as they aged. I loved Wrath and Hero. And…that’s about it. The dislikes kind of outweighed the likes with this one.

For starters, I could not stand how she cut off communication with her family without a word. I get it. The cops. The guy with the knife. Yada yada yada. I don’t care. Pretty sure loyalty and discretion and secret keeping are skills that Zeus and King could have easily utilized to work around all that. As close as they are and she just cuts ties with them one day. She doesn’t think they will have an issue with that or come looking for her? Hello. Have a conversation. And Zeus cutting her off was brutal. I would like to unread that whole scene.

Aside from that, I had so many issues with Danner. Having three girls at one time, for instance. What? Obviously he had to do what he had to do with Laken, but the cop? He’s so loyal and in love with HR that he gets a tattoo for her. But wait, he’s also dating a cop for two years and then doesn’t say a word about her until HR sees them together? And also, poor cop lady that her man is off cheating on her with two freaking women. Just ew. His Dom side was not my favorite and honestly just seemed random. And why was he going to the police station so much? Pretty sure they don’t do that at all if they are undercover.

Honorable mentions of things that I wish I could extract from my memory: the ending with Wrath and his woman was trash. Her freaking STABBING Danner was horrific. All the time we had to spend with the Berserkers and their rapey selves was not enjoyable. Her freaking mother was awful in every moment of every scene. But HERO? NO. I already endured Mute’s death in the last book and now you’re killing puppies? Why, Giana? That was just cruel and excruciating to read.

I really want to push through and finish this series, but this was rough for me. I guess we shall see.

I had also read this one before about a year ago but chose to do a reread.

We have HR who is Zeus' daughter, throughout her teen years she was constantly in trouble and Danner one of the town cops (he also acted as her and King's guardian sometimes while Zeus was in prison) would always swoop in to save her. When the book starts it's been three years since she has seen Danner and she is just about to finish her nursing degree. She had been dating a member of another MC and just killed him after years of abuse. Who does she call immediately after? Danner.

You see three years ago they had a moment and they haven't spoken since but she knows he will still come to save her.

The entire book is about Danner and HR working from the inside to take down this other MC. They do some really bad shit and at some point HR's junkie mom gets involved. It's crazy. Throughout the book Danner and HR are together mostly in secret for the safety of the case but damn their chemistry. Also, factor in that Danner is dominant in the bedroom, damn.

I liked this one but for some reason, it wasn't a 5-star like the others. I can't put my finger on why exactly. HR bothered me in the previous book but I think it was mainly just the teenage antics. Still enjoyable though!

Harleigh rose is the princess of the fallen MC, being the daughter of the prez means she has grown up in the life and is a certified biker chick. At 6 she meets 16 year old Danner, being the son of a police officer they couldn’t be farther apart. When Danner saves HR from running into a MC fight in the middle of the street, they were instantly connected. Danner has always been there for her, no matter where he was or what she did he was always her hero. After three years of no contact, Harleigh rose gets so deep into trouble and the only man she can think to help her is Officer Danner, the man who always saves her.

I was really hoping to like this one, I loved book 2 welcome to the dark side. But this seems to drag for me. I wasn’t dying to read it. I did like Danner, his sacrifices he was always willing to make to protect HR, and I do always love a sexy Dom. HR was ok for me, she was a very strong MFC and I did like her but this book just wasn’t vibing for me.

Lion Danner & H.R.

I was so looking forward to this story but no lie it draaaaaaaaaaggggggggged on a bit too much for me! You only have to see how long it took me to read it compared to the first two books in the series to understand!

H.R. is a complicated girl in a very mad world! So many things happened to her that led her to her happy ending.

There were at least two more people (or maybe three) that is tugging at the back of my mind when I reflect on the story and I would really like to know how they got in, the truth of their conclusion so to speak.

Great series! Ride on rebels!

When I first read this, it got 3 stars, and it stays at 3 stars after this reread.

I like the book, its entertaining but it doesn't quite hit the mark when it comes to the relationship between Harley-rose & Danner and I think that is because it relies on flashback type scenes to build their emotional relationship rather than giving us more of those kind of moments in the present. The physical chemistry between them was good. However, the D/s dynamic that was attempted here wasn't done in the best way. In my opinion, the scenes were hot but felt cheesey at times. The overall plot was engaging and entertaining but I wish we had got more on page scenes with the Fallen characters we have seen in the previous two books as that found family/brotherhood aspect of the story was missing in this one. Lucy Rivers and Troy Duran's performances were great as always. 🌶🌶
