This book was very dry. I had to read it for school and I hated almost every second of it. The technological aspects were eerie, as it was almost like a prophesy to today’s technology. While it is a classic, I don’t enjoy it too much. The most happened during the last 10 pages

I liked that parts of this book were like a love letter to books and reading. There were a few parts that held a lot of meaning or seemed to give me something new or profound to think about, in particular the phoenix quote (below). But for the most part I don't think I 'got' this one.
“There was a silly damn bird called a phoenix back before Christ, every few hundred years he built a pyre and burnt himself up. He must have been the first cousin to Man. But every time he burnt himself up he sprang out of the ashes, he got himself born all over again. And it looks like we're doing the same thing, over and over, but we've got one damn thing the phoenix never had. We know the damn silly thing we just did. We know all the damn silly things we've done for a thousand years and as long as we know that and always have it around where we can see it, someday we'll stop making the goddamn funeral pyres and jumping in the middle of them. We pick up a few more people that remember every generation.”

Fahrenheit 451 along with Cloud Cuckoo Land put me in a new mindset about books and led to my recent surge of reorganizing my bookshelf, making rankings of books I have read, joining book clubs, and updating my goodreads. Excellent book, had the same thing as 1984 that I love where the person in power explains why they run the system the way they do and empathizes with the mc instead of just fighting them.
