A deeply affecting, sickly graphic novel about how a culture of abuse and persistent violence permeates and affects one's sense of self, femininity, and the development of friendship.

Really good. Somewhat gritty, troubled-teen memoir, set in South Korea. If that sounds like it would appeal then you'll probably enjoy it.

it could be that this wasn’t translated well, but it does not make sense.

I don’t think I’ve read anything like this before. Growing up in Korea, two girls have terrible early lives. They find solace in each other sometimes. At other times... not so much.

This would have been a five star book with important themes if I had understood it. I was very confused...perhaps because I am not used to graphic novels/manga.
