For some reason I have never been the biggest rom com fan but this book has made me want to watch so many!!! It was so cool to learn the history of rom coms in Hollywood and the stories behind many famous films. Scott Meslow is a good writer and I liked how many topics he touched upon. It kinda felt like short essays from him.

Im really bummed because i feel like this is two separate works threaded together. The essays and chapters could be excellent if expanded and on their own, but they don't flow the best together necessarily

I unabashedly love rom-coms so I was THRILLED when I found this book. SO interesting to read about the BTS of some of the most iconic movies ever made and, though rightfully critical at moments, it truly reads as a love letter to the genre. ALSO I added ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-THREE (153!!!) movies to my list of ones to watch in the future.
