Fascinating

Burton comes over as a complex but generally likeable character, amused by his fame and voracious in his appetite for literature. While he's not shy about blowing his own trumpet, he's equally candid about his darker side and often grieves over his frequent bad behaviour.

As a film buff I lament that he seems to have generally ceased his diary when filming, but there are still plenty of revealing anecdotes about life on set.

There is genuine tragedy in his booze-doomed but eternal romance with Taylor.

Already being one of my favorite actors, Burton proves to be a complex, well-read (3-5 books a day!), sensitive man trapped within the confines of fame, booze and wealth. What a voice.

Started off interesting but became a hard slog of minutia. Much of a muchness.
