Amy Sedaris is so funny! She spoke at Book Expo 2006, and we got free copies of her book and the audio book. That was a star-studded event -- Barack Obama was there, too!

Love Amy Sedaris. Loved this book. May never try any of the recipes but this is definitely a book I will keep in my kitchen.

This book is just . . . confused. 2/3 sarcasm and wit, 1/3 genuine recipes and entertainment tips, "I Like You" seems to waver between genres, ultimately failing to choose, which gives the reader a sense that she/he is missing out on some complex inside joke. Listened to the audiobook version on my commute, and I can say for certain that the audiobook is the way to go if you want to read "I Like You." Sedaris' voice adds considerably to the humor and, despite my ultimate 'huh?' reaction, I laughed out loud several times while listening.

Depending on your humor there are parts that you may find offensive. The book is for ADULTS ONLY. Definitely not something you would want to put on your coffee table or kitchen bookshelf. Knowing Amy’s comedic style from “Strangers with Candy” I expected this. Even with that knowledge the end result left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Yeah, I get that it is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek but it never quite gets there. The book is filled with too much random content, from drawings, recipes, lists and some “female” advice. I just don’t think her writing style combines humor and helpful tips well.

i wanted to like this so much more than i did!

This isn't much of a cookbook and, to be honest, I have never prepared anything from her recipes. But it's entertaining.

I just wish I had never seen her in person. She broke my heart a little bit.

The book is funny, though.
funny fast-paced

Actually filled with really helpful, if offbeat, advice. I'd love to go to one of Amy Sedaris' parties.

Half the time, I couldn't tell if this was for real or not. I will definitely be trying decifer Amy's recipe for steamed carrots:

Put carrots in steamer.

Or something like that.
