I was a bit annoyed that the story hints to supernatural stuff quite a few times but the focus stays on more realistic aspects of the story. It really didn't need the supernatural parts and it just felt kind of distracting. Either just write a ghost story or keep it more realistic, it would have made the story stronger.

Part Shakesperean, part Greek tragedy. Calamity strikes at the Castle Otranto when the Marquis' son dies after a giant helmet falls on him out of the sky, right before his wedding to Isabella, a princess. The Marquis goes mad, and decides to marry Isabella himself, which leads to all sorts of misunderstandings, betrayals, love affairs, and mistaken identities.

This was a very entertaining story and a quick read. A bit melodramatic and everyone's reactions are over the top, but it's all for fun.

An absolutely fun, campy read that's like Umineko, without the necessary depth. Absolutely fun pulpy Gothic horror that would predict the fun pulpy Gothic horror that would come after this. I loved it so much. Matilda x Theodore x Isabella is one of the ships of all time.
