Trigger warning for the death of an animal at the very beginning of the book. I can’t say the book plot was worth reading that. The rest of the book was mostly boring.

not my fave from the series, yawn first half

"Perhaps we’ll always carry these burdens, whether they are rightfully ours or not."

At this point, it seems I'm a fan of anything that Elisa Braden writes. Especially if it involves Mrs MacBean.

The stalker/madman aspect was one of the main driving forces of the story, but there was very little of Stephen Northfield's perspective. Not that I wanted to sympathize with him, but I would have wanted to know more about him.

I love the Highland magic that is woven into this series.

4.5 stars. Gosh this is such a great series and I can’t wait for more
