I really enjoy this series. The writing and the plot are a little cheesy but I can absolutely accept that since it is so much fun.

Once again, this book contains more erotic scenes than I have ever found in another romance book (but maybe I am still too new to the genre). And once again I love the depiction of kink which gives me the impression that Roberts has a lot of knowledge in that territory. Except for minor details that seem to be more from the realms of fantasy than reality, these situations and the words with which they are described seem to be authentic kink scenes with consent, negotiation and aftercare being highly valued. And I appreciate that so much.

Also I am overjoyed about the depiction of
polyamory. Even though the scene in which Hades, Meg and Hercules decide to date each other was incredibly short and skipped numerous steps of what the negotiations and agreements of beginning new relationship dynamics could and maybe should entail, it was all very sweet. It really warmed me to read the scenes of the three of them cuddling together or either of them experiencing compersion (a polyam term for witnessing your partner enjoy their time with someone else and feeling happy and fuzzy for them). This is a very positive depiction of a consensual polyamorous dynamic and I very much needed that in my life.

Lastly, I continue to be a huge fan of the Disney villain narrative frame. It's so much fun!

Hades/Meg/Hercules dark romance retelling including a polyamourous relationship and intro BDSM.

I definitely like this retelling more than Desperate Measures. The characters were complex and had more depth. Their personalities balanced out and allowed for interesting dynamics during scenes.

This book wasn't as good as the first one, but I still enjoyed the story.

I loved the relationship between Hades, Meg, and Hercules by the end of the book. Hercules was the perfect addition to the already formed relationship between Hades and Meg. He got them to communicate their problems with each other which they had an issue with before Hercules was brought into the mix.

I loved how Hercules surprised both Hades and Meg with how perfectly he was able to get their thoughts out of them and how well he ended up fitting in perfectly with them.

The ending was just as perfect. This story may have felt a bit slow for me but the storyline was great. Maybe could've gotten there a little faster and left a scene out but I still really enjoyed the story.
