Oh man. Conflicting feelings about this book. From a surgical standpoint, the writing (especially the first few chapters) are a lot of "telling" instead of "showing," which can be boring to read. Despite that, I found myself compelled to continue because of the emotional investment I had in the characters pretty quickly. There are two romances in this story and I kind of found myself enjoying the secondary one even more. There were also a few questionable moments of dubious consent. So. This tugged at my heartstrings and I found myself swept up in the love story (which doesn't often happen for me--especially when declarations are made because I usually find that to be cheesy) but it also wasn't my favorite.
