DNF on page 147. I considered at least reading the parts with Marcus, Lord Westcliff, but just the thought of continuing reading this book is making me feel sick.
A few pages earlier the supposed male love interest McKenna told Aline he'd consider it permission to rape her if she didn't have him sent away from the manor by the next day. Meanwhile Aline is like "Oh, surely he wouldn't do that. I knew him twelve years ago, surely he's still the same person inside even if just a few pages ago I remarked a different sentiment". McKenna is depraved and sick and definitely the worst "love interest" I've ever read by Lisa Kleypas along with Derek Craven from Dreaming of You. What is it with Lisa Kleypas writing so many rape-y love interests?
