First of all, I'm genuinely a big fan of Penny Reids works, especially the small town of Green Valley and all the interconnected people. I loved most of the Winston Brothers stories and the previous 2 Good Folk stories and unfortunately this one just happened to employ one of my least favorite tropes which is a virgin MMC. I'm personally not a fan of this trope, but if you are, this book might be just right for you.
The MMC is also a self-righteous, uptight a-- for a good 25% of the beginning of the book, and his self-righteous conclusion jumping nearly made me DNF. Luckily our MMC and I were saved from further a--hole behavior by a side character known in the green valley universe as a pot-stiring drama inciting queen, but surprisingly in this book she was my favorite character and she saved a lot of the issues for me.
I wish I could say things turned around after the 25% mark, but unfortunately there was a bit of a slog until the final 25%, and then I was just left unsatisfied.
I was really looking forward to Issac Sylvester finally becoming a main character in this world, and I was left disappointed.

Always grateful to Penny Reid for:
1. No third act break ups
2. Cletus Winston
I just read Truth or Beard as well, still not always a fan of Tina but glad to see she's matured.
