Wow!!

This story was a good from the beginning. I enjoyed reading about how they both loved each other for years and were too afraid to act on it. Was shocked at the ending. On to the next book

“There’s no thinking or stopping. It’s only Boris and me and all the years of denying each other our bodies”.

It’s a forbidden love story between Boris Ivanov and Nora O’Mally. He’s been best friends with her brother since they were kids, but always off limits. He’s Russian and working just outside the mafia and she’s an Irish mafia princess. They’ve always wanted each other, even though it isn’t meant to be. She sees who he truly is: a fighter, muscle… and accepts him and wants him anyway. Nora is the girl he always desired, beautiful inside and out.

Broken Fighter is a great second book in the series. The books seem to be running concurrently, all from different couple’s perspectives. It could be read as a standalone, but best read in order. I’m really enjoying this series. It’s super fast paced and the chemistry between Nora and Boris is off the chain. These are lovers that are denied for long, that when it happens your kindle nearly bursts. Their relationship has a ton of implications for both friends and family, but once that dam bursts, there’s no going back to pretending they're just friends.

Can’t wait to see what’s next in the series!

Trope: Forbidden love
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Angst:

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! This story pulled me in from the first paragraph. Well written, great dialog, lots of action, incredible chemistry between Boris and Nora, and eReader melting sex scenes. I can’t wait to dive into book three of the Mafia Wars.

Tropes: best friend’s little sister, Mafia romance with a subplot worthy of every action movie ever made. 5 stars overall, 4 hearts for romance, 4 knives for violence, 4 pipers for spice, and 4 tears for drama. If this were a movie, it would be rated R graphic violence and sex, both on and off page. I will recommend, but I will include the caveat to read the trigger warnings.

This is the second book in the Mafia Wars series by Maggie Cole. This book follows the story of Nora and Boris. We see them in Ruthless Stranger. Nora and Boris have known each other since childhood. They have feelings for each other but can't act on it due to Noras family the O' Malleys. The O' Malleys are an Irish crime family. They want Nora to marry an Irish man to keep the bloodline pure Irish. The spicy scenes were really good.
Their story is kinda like Romeo and Juliet but mafia styled and I loved it.
It also has brothers best friend trope which I absolutely love. He also kept calling her moya dusha.

"You're mine, moya dusha. I love you. No amount of potential destruction is keeping me away from you."

"I would have thought being with him almost every night would reduce the hum in my veins. It doesn't. When he sneaks behind me at work or gives me his panty-melting stare, it only intensifies until I'm so desperate for him, the moment we're alone we're going at it."

The mafia plot really picked up in this one

This book was mesmerizing! I’m glad I took a chance… the first one was a total let down but the side characters were intriguing and boy Boris and Nora did not disappoint!

This couple was mesmerizing and they pulled you in, you root for them…their romance was so juicy even though I hated the “forbidden” aspect of it because they were in their 30’s and infantilizing Nora (and she played well into it especially when she was dragging her feet ugh) was insulting… I mean I get it she’s the little sister but it was a bit much…

This story was full of pain and showed ya love overcame everything!!!  I loved that Nora, the FMC was normal and didn’t act selfish (like Aspen from book 1) and she didn’t have the lack of self preservation most FMC have… I really liked Nora… and loved her with Boris together (there were moments there but not as bad.)

I can’t wait to get into Sergey’s story…a beautiful set up to the next book!
