This was recommended by a book club friend because I have really been into the paranormal romance genre lately. This novella marks the start of an entire series of paranormal romances. I am not sure if I will continue with the series because I wasn't really blown away by this book.

The only thing that really stood out to me was the relationship dynamic between the two main characters. They had a cat/mouse dynamic while also hating that they were connected to each other. It felt a lot like Matthias and Nina's relationship from the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.

So this was a quick fun time, but I didn't love it.

Main theme: Spicy AF!!

I would pick up the second book just for the storyline.

I don't care for the book. I thought everything was alright, the sex scenes were well written but I just didn't care for Myst or for Wroth. I didn't like how slutty she was and how "ashamed" she felt or how Cole tried to justify her actions. Sure, in the situations Cole gave us she was justified, but she admitted in the beginning how she was slutty and then she has a whole entire collection of lingerie that someone would wear for her honeymoon. I was disappointed since I saw so many good reviews. It's a book that you'd pick up if you had a lot of time on your hands.

I listened to the audio book 4.5 raiting

Loved it and the enemies to lovers trope suited it very well really liked Mist as a character. I can deffentily see why so many people like this series after listening to this. The narrator did a great voice for Roth too which made the audio book more enjoyable.

Entertaining enough. Myst is a great character. Smut was circa 2000s (totally fine that’s when this was written) but good quality.
