Such a great book! I really enjoyed banter and the sassy dragons. A great reluctant enemies to lovers and I can't wait to see where book 2 takes us!

I devoured this book in one sitting—yes, it’s that good. Heart of Chaos is the perfect blend of cozy romantasy and rich, immersive world-building. Madeleine Eliot has crafted a universe that feels both magical and grounded, wrapping you up in its charm from the first page.
What really hooked me (besides the slow-burn romance, of course) was the mystery woven throughout. There are so many unanswered questions and hidden threads, mixed with dragon and human lore, I genuinely have no idea how the story will unfold—which I absolutely love that!
If you’re looking for a romantasy read that delivers heart, atmosphere, and of course dragons, Heart of Chaos is it. While it does end on a major cliff hanger, I’m not even mad about it.

This series has everything I love to read. Vikings, mythology, dragon shifters, possessive MMC, banter....just so good.
I love how the story feels familiar but also new. I think the world building is well done and not overly detailed. I felt the characters were fleshed out and I can't wait for book 2 and learn more about them. I think the MMC is my perfect book BF because he's everything I look for in character traits AND he's a dragon. There's no need to save a horse here, you get a 2 for 1.
The romance side of things is very hate/love, hurt/comfort, touch her and D, mates, and I wanna say some pining. You could skip the spice scenes, but they way everything is integrated that it's worth at least skimming (IYKYK).
Highly recommend.

Heart of Chaos is a dragon-shifter fantasy - which is a type of book I’ve never tried (my only experience with shifters being werewolves), and may now be something I try to read more as this was BRILLIANT!! I am so honoured to be on @madeleineeliotwrites’ street team for this one.
HOC has a strong fmc, who has undergone so much trauma, and will fight for the people she cares about - and the people she doesn’t. I am itching to read book two of this series (also, I LOVE that this has a number on the side), as this is a fantastic introduction to the Chaosborn series. With swoony romance, a MMC who absolutely fell first, and some seriously lovable side characters, there’s nothing I can think of that’s make this any better.
