Another solid Sutter Lake story!
There's just something special about witnessing a woman fighting for her independence after being badly betrayed by the people who she used to lean on finding a man who seemingly is content with his solitary life but desperately needs to open up to the people who care about him.
And he ends up shedding a tear or two!
I can't wait to get to the next one!

Noone does Heroine in hiding quite like CC this and you already know I devoured this. Cain is the perfect brooding, overprotective alpha-hole and Kennedy is just such a sweetheart and I loved reading her story.
The found family feels are strong in this one and I especially loved seeing the bond between Cain and Tucker & Walker — yes they may be alpha-holes at times but positive male friendships just get me right in the feels.
You can really tell that this is where CC is starting to find herself in the romantic suspense genre — we get enough mystery on both Kennedy and Cain's part and that nice looming threat in the distance 👀
Also — go read the bonus scene at the end because it literally made me tear up.
