I liked the grateful jars aspect and loved that the characters were always understanding when one wasn’t fully ready to open up to the other yet

Awesome

I was here for the plot. Kennedy is a brave soul who didn’t deserve what came her way after making some hard decisions. My heart broke for Cain that he had endured so much trauma. Loved that he had a therapist and friends that helped along the way. Love the brotherhood and sisterhood in this series as well. I would recommend this book to anyone who blames themselves for things that are out of their control. I gave this book 5 stars because the plot was great. Loved the mystery surrounding the story.

Listened on Hoopla.

3.5 stars

Absolutely loved Cain. He made my heart hurt and I just wanted to give him a hug.

Kennedy was actually a little bit of a pill and more than a little holier-than-thou. I didn't dislike her or anything, not sure it's possible to truly dislike any on the mains in these books, but I'm pretty sure she is my least favourite.

Sutter Lake is the perfect small town romance though. Need to check out those other Catherine Cowles I think.

This is book four of the Sutter Lake series, and it is clear to see how each book keeps getting better. The story drew me in right away, and the two MCs complemented each other perfectly.

What to expect:
-Millionaire
-Heroine hiding from her past
-Protective hero
-Age gap (22, 36)
-Romantic suspense
-Small town
emotional hopeful inspiring mysterious fast-paced

Kennedy did the right thing, but a lot of people didn’t see that. And they associated her with her father.

It was terrible and she had to get away to be safe to start anew.

She meets Cain who is also haunted by his past. They help heal each other until she finds out more than Cain is willing to share.

It was ok this wasn’t my favourite in the series it's probably my least but that's ok.
On to the next.
slow-paced

This series is easy to read and easy to get hooked on.
