Cain wasn’t my favorite MMC of all time this series, but I still really enjoyed him. I always enjoy Catherine Cowles books, so I knew that no matter what happens I was going to have a good time. She has the same formula in every book I’ve read so far and there’s something about that, that’s so comforting to me. I can’t wait to get through her whole backlist. Angst, tension, and chemistry in her books for days. 

Kennedy fled her past and changed her last name to start fresh in Sutter Lake. She longs for a family of her own. Cain also comes to Sutter Lake to get away from everything. Once he meets Kennedy, he knows she’s hiding something. And he’ll stop at nothing to find out what.

This was amazing and will be a contender for top 10 books I read this year. I just knew I was going to love Kennedy’s story when she was first introduced as a character. The relationships in this book between Kennedy & Cane and Kennedy and Jensen were just so spot on. Loved it.

Listen it had some great tropes. But after a while Cains inability to be honest with Kennedy and the way he blew up at her really made me upset with him.
