I think I've read all of Heather's books and generally I have trouble putting them down from the very start. This one kept me engaged enough that I didn't give up on it but I didn't get that "can't put it down feeling" until the last 5 or 6 chapters. Overall, I enjoyed it; it just wasn't as exceptional as I've found the rest of her books.

I LOVE thinking I’ve had a mystery figured out… being all smug and anticipating my book review… how I was the hot shot book whisperer and all… and then: WHAM!
I was so wrong!

I read this book in one night - I loved the suspense and it was quick moving, I couldn't go to bed without finishing it.
dark mysterious sad fast-paced

This was a fine, procedural, whodunit. Nothing earth shattering, not a ton of character development, although I think the author was going for something a bit deeper. But an entertaining read nonetheless.

This was a quick read. A little predictable but good.

Sorry but this one read like a bad made for TV movie. I like a book that keeps me guessing but not one that is beyond anything that could realistically happen.

Wow

I loved this book, it was such a great read! I kept turning page after page late into the night because I just HAD to know what mysteries were held in Penny Gate. I would highly recommend this book to readers, especially if they liked Gone Girl or Girl on the Train.
