This book was fantastic! I literally sat at my desk today and pretended to work while hiding my Kindle on my desk behind a stack of papers so I could finish it. Great story line- kept you guessing. I actually never figured it out which is somewhat rare for me. I’m looking forward to reading some of Kimberly McCreight’s other books!
If you enjoyed big little lies, you’ll enjoy this book. Set in Brooklyn, not California, commentary on the moms of park slope, along with a lawyer trying to uncover the truth of a murder for an old law school friend. I tore through this book in an afternoon.
I’m speechless. It’s not often that a book has so many different plot points that come together in such a satisfying way. The book truly takes the concept of marriage and turns it on its head, while incorporating intrigue, scandal, a devastating murder, and the way that the past never white stays in the past.
This book had me hooked. Lots of twists that I had not seen coming and I loved the different perspectives and the history of the characters.
A solid 4 stars. A nice easy murder mystery with enough twists and turns to keep you engaged. But no random left turns in the middle of nowhere. It all comes together at the end but was not obvious in the first 20 pages.
4.5 ⭐️’s rounded up. As someone who had previous never heard of the Author I was hesitant in adding to my BOTM box, but wow am I glad I did! I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this plot flow as well as the character development. I found it to be just enough of thrill mix in with a bit of drama, romance and friendship. I read the entire book in a weekend, as I couldn’t wait to see what happened. It’s best to go in without knowing to many details, but I didn’t see the end coming! I would recommend, and now look forward to checking out a few of her previous books as well.
4.5 - fast paced with many twists. Solid quarantine read
