The Order is a gold star in the Gabriel Allon series. It is faced paced and rich in lore that Silva is so good at weaving into the action of the story. Luigi Donati and Veronica Marchese make a reappearance and they are a great foil for Gabriel and Chiara.

While these books are so good on their own (and can absolutely be read as stand-alones), the series itself flows so easily with each book containing traces of a previous one. There are so many layers to each of Silva's books and he is now a insta-buy author of mine.

A good Allon book but maybe one too many moving parts. Unlike previous books the plot felt rushed, the important moments lacked the previous details. Nevertheless the story was still there.

This book is easy to follow and was very interesting to me. It delves into the Catholic Church and the election of a new pope. Chaos ensues and Gabriel Allon must figure out what really is happening. His investigation leads to a secret order with ties to Nazis and The Holocaust. Be sure to read the Authors Note at the end of the book for some true historical information.

Missing Gospels, two millennia of conspiracies, Vatican mysteries, secret Catholic societies… These might remind you of The DaVinci Code, but this review is about The Order, Daniel Silva’s 20th novel with super-spy Gabriel Allon, now “director-general of the Israeli intelligence service.” In this installment, the Pope is murdered and The Order is set to install their choice as his successor. With the help of much technical magic, Gabriel foils the plot (not really a spoiler).

A fast-moving thriller of liberal heroes against an evil right-wing conspiracy.
