Disappointing. I so loved Full Tilt and was ready to read my way through all of Dervla Murphy. But now I’m not sure. This one wasn’t good; boring with poor forward momentum to the « story ». And while I absolutely agree with Dervla’s observation on meeting the Europeans with their completely self contained trekking camp - that travelling that way means one doesn’t interact with the locals - I was continually troubled by her approach of expecting hospitality from desperately poor people.
