Child murder: a brief introduction. This was a great saga, brutal, and at times hilarious. There were some points, names and references that were v confusing to me, might be easier to understand if you have more of a background in norse myth

A very nice presentation of this ancient saga, with good notes and context. I enjoyed reading the story of Sigurd of the Volsungs, which has many commonalities with the Song of the Nibelungen that came later.

Sibling incest, revenge, love, drama, nonchalant murder of children, more drama, my man is better than your man, repeat.

A pretty fascinating legend with mysterious roots, brimming with all the violence and family drama and dragon slaying you can want. It's pretty wild.

An interesting tale. The introduction is a boring, but the tale itself is good. The story is written in such a way as to be slightly humorous. It proclaims itself to be a saga in several places, and occasionally will throw in a weird short sentence at the end of other sections. Honestly these little sections, are why I like the book. The content of the saga is pretty standard, only with more offhand killing.

This is the best epic I have ever read. It kept my interest, has good characters and scenes, and is overall entertaining. I was skeptical at first because I'm not a big fan of Norse myth, but it was well worth it and better, in my opinion, than many Greek epics.

I thoroughly enjoy this Saga and I really enjoyed this translation.
