Excellent mystery that kept me guessing with the solid character building and relationships of a literary fiction. There were some big twists I didn’t see coming which is impressive.

 I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and devoured it in a day and a half. I enjoyed the mystery and I am a sucker for time travel plots. As a mother, I found the overly blaming herself for what happens a bit hard to take but did feel the description of early days of motherhood relatable.

Started slow. Wasn’t my favorite, but it ended strong. 

The twists were shocking!! They definitely helped me enjoy the last 20%. 👌🏼

If you want a quick suspense that has a decent plot with multiple twists that will leave you shook, check it out. 

If you’re not a fan of time travel or repetitive situations, you can skip this one.

Wow, this book blew my mind!  Such a heart-wrenching and thrilling mystery.  Jen is a busy woman trying to be the perfect mother, lawyer and wife.  When she witnesses her son, Todd, murder a mysterious man, she is shocked and determined to understand why.  The force of her emotions literally change the course of time, and she begins to live life in reverse, waking up the day before the murder, and then slowly moving back in time and discovering more and more about the murdered man, her son and all of the secrets she never knew.  Incredible plot, this book drew me in from page 1!

This was a completely different kind of thriller than I was used to reading. I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like the time travel aspect, but the storyline completely sucked me in. I felt for Jen’s predicament as a mother trying to protect her son. I would do anything to protect my son. So I could relate with her on that. 

I love her thought process, her honesty — her brutal honesty, and the fact she was so real and relatable. The only thing that I felt it lacked was consistency or clarity in timelines when switching from Jen’s POV to another. I felt like Jen’s timeline was clearly laid out, so I felt confused when Ryan’s timeline wasn’t so clear. However, the last 20% or so of the book was amazing and tied everything up completely. It’s probably one of the first perfectly tied up endings I’ve ever read. 

I will say if you enjoyed Groundhog’s day or another similar themed movie or book, then look no further than this one. You’ll enjoy it! 

So my question to you is: If you could go back in time to stop a murder would you?

He is walking toward a man, and he’s armed. Jen cannot believe what she sees him do – her funny, happy teenage soon has just killed a stranger, right there on the street outside her house. She doesn’t know who or why. She only knows that Todd is now in custody and his future is gone. That night Jen goes to sleep feel despair. She is feeling lost. Until she wakes up . . . and it’s yesterday. And when she wakes again . . . it’s the day before yesterday. Every morning when Jen wakes it’s a day earlier, another day before the murder. With another chance to stop it. Somewhere in the past lies an answer. The trigger for this crime – and she doesn’t have a choice but to find it. 

This book has a really interesting concept and I was a little sceptical on how it was going to work, but Gillian McAllister managed to pull it off. I really enjoyed seeing the additional POVs from Ryan who is a cop who is working undercover and how his story played out. I did struggle with this book at the beginning, I was wondering where it was going to go, by the end I was completely hooked and wondering if Jen was going to be able to stop this murder. Also, I liked the fact that we were also equally confused about why she was at what date until Jen figured it out – it made it seem like we were in Jen’s shoes. I really enjoyed this book once I finally managed to get into it. I would have loved to see POVs from Todd like how he got the knife, why he’s going to do it, how he met Clio etc. 

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a crime/thriller mystery book.
