Fine for what it is, but I didn't care for any of the characters or much of the plot, and found the romance too sudden.

4 1/2 Stars
Review:
This is the sixth book of Katie West’s I’ve read and just like all the others, I loved it! There was a point in the book where I quite literally jumped up and almost screamed out of excitement. Then realising it was 3ish in the morning and everyone else was asleep, I realised that probably wasn’t the bast idea

This was as expected for a Kasie West YA contemporary romance.
So if you’ve read anything from her before and enjoyed it, this was par for the course and you’ll probably like this one too.
If you haven’t, just know trope and theme-wise that there’s a road trip, childhood-friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, family secrets and the subsequent family drama that always follows, best friend betrayal on more than one front and it’s all wrapped in a cute and comfortable young adult bow.
It didn’t do anything special for me but I’m also not within it’s demographic, so yeah.

This is such a cute and loveable teen rom com!
Definitely not my favorite Kasie West, which was disappointing! Kasie has become an "oh, this is gonna be 5-stars automatically" kind-of author, and I was bummed I didn't like this book quite as much. HOWEVER, I don't want to bash on it by any means because I still really enjoyed it. I feel like this was a better version of Kara McDowell's One Way or Another; they both have similar tropes of best friends to lovers, roadtrips/vacations, etc. I really enjoyed the roadtrip and the plot in this one, as well as how involved Nora and Skyler's siblings were. I do think this was a really well paced story and I enjoyed the end much more than the beginning. But idk, I just don't think I connected with Nora and Skyler like I have a lot of Kasie's other romantic couples, because they annoyed the heck out of me in the beginning of the story. Nora was a bit too snippish for me lol. Even after they were together, I definitely didn't find them as memorable or cute as a lot of the other couples in her backlist. Oh well, with as many 5-star reads this woman has given me, I need to cut her some slack. This was still very good and very cute, just not favorite of the year level like usual.
Here's my updated ranking of her books (yes, I've read all her books lol):
1. Moment of Truth
2. By Your Side
3. Love, Life, and the List
4. Sunkissed
5. P.S. I Like You
6. Listen to Your Heart
7. Maybe This Time
8. Lucky in Love
(All of those are 5-stars lol)
9. Pivot Point
10. The Fill-In Boyfriend
11. Places We've Never Been
12. Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss
(all above are 4-stars)
13. The Distance Between Us
14. Split Second
15. On the Fence
(keep in mind, On the Fence is still a 3-star read!)

2.5. Not bad, okay, though not her best, but better than some others. Everything goes well until around half of the book when . I feel like it was too instant that left me with "? already?". I was kind of unmotivated to continue because but then around 80% of the book it get better, as in the plot, but then the ending was okay. I honestly love Norah's character because ~sHe'S nOt lIkE tHe uSuAl YA pRotAgOnIsT~ but she doesn't try hard to be what she is (?), and it gives me a breath of fresh air. The romance was 2/5 for me, not a big fan, but it was okay. It doesn't make me swoon. Skyler's character's is just ok too. So the spotlight here is Norah as a character then. An okay read. Love the road trip plotline
