A quick, fun read! I really enjoyed it and actually didn’t have it figured out until right up to the end!

This is part of a series, but you will not really miss much (I didn't) by reading this book first.

While this book starts out slow, it sure picks up and I stayed up late in the night to finish it.

My thinks to netgalley and St. Martins Press for this advanced readers copy.

What a sweet ending.

Hell is empty, and all the devils are here! - William Shakespeare, The Tempest

Is this where you tell me that the Chinese symbol for crisis is also the symbol for opportunity?

...and the concerning thing about this-not that we can't deal with it because we can-

I haven’t read other books by this author so I can’t compare it to her other works. In my mind this book was poorly written.  The author repeated herself a number of times and there were many short and choppy sentences throughout the book. I regularly found myself rewriting in my head as I was reading.

The plot was a Standard who-done-it which kept my attention but  it had only a few surprising twists.

I’ll find other authors from now on.

Mary agrees to represent her childhood friend, Simon, in a wrongful termination lawsuit against his former employer. She doesn't realize that Bennie, her law partner, represents the parent company. Mary and Bennie may dissolve their partnership over this case. As Mary digs into the case, she discovers something more sinister, and is in danger of losing her life.
Enjoyable thriller, with some humor thrown into the mix.
