*Thank you NetGalley for this advanced eARC, in exchange for an honest review*

This was a quick and easy novella, ait was very fast paced. I genuinely liked the story and most of the characters, but I think I would have liked it if it was longer. It seemed like there was missing something which would have been great to elaborate on in a longer book.

I liked Paige a lot and the relationship build up, and the way they interacted with each other. However I think the way Monica handled Bryce was just annoying, she didn’t get to stand up to him or make him see that it wasn’t her fault, she basically just took the easy way and said whatever and make him think he was right about everything.

Overall it was a quick lovable novella with a fun and easy language, could have wished for more, but good nonetheless.

I liked the story but I feel like being so short went against the novella and it's development.

Juggles a lot of topics and tropes and the romance suffers because of it. Wanted to love it, but this one wasn’t for me.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC.

Monica Adams Skips Christmas is a cutesy holiday book about a college student coming home for the holidays only to find that her life is quickly turned upside down immediately - her boyfriend of three years had dumped her, she’s been banished from her bedroom, and her parents aren’t even home much to say hi to her. She’s miserable. After deciding to skip Christmas, she runs into an old friend…or more than a friend?

This wasn’t my favorite book. It read like a fan fiction and didn’t feel like a complete book. It felt very sped through and like it was kind of rushed. I wished that the characters had more time to develop. I also felt like a lot of the actions/descriptions were the same throughout the book (I can’t even tell you how many times Paige looked down at the floor and put a piece of hair behind her ear).

Overall, this book was a very quick read. It was predictable like a Hallmark movie, but it was cute.

This was so clunky that it felt like the first draft of something was trying to be either a contemporary fiction or a queer romcom but couldn't actually make up its mind. I felt zero about anyone in the book, I didn't care about anyone or understand their motives. It needed to be workshopped a lot more.

This novella had some cute storylines going on but I think it unfortunately wasn’t long enough, so I felt like most of what was going on got resolved way too quickly or not at all. I also feel like the romance wasn’t central enough to the story - Monica and Paige only interact a few times and I really didn’t feel a romantic chemistry between them for most of their interactions. They were cute at the end but I personally am someone who needs to see and feel a lot of build up between a pairing and I just did not finish the story feeling there was enough of that between this couple.

Also something that bothered me was - we have this girl come home from college and her grandfather who has dementia is sleeping in her room (which is absolutely fine) but she can’t sleep in her couch, her parents make her sleep in the basement and they live in a snowy place??? The mom was really more worried about ruining her couch than her daughter being cold underneath the apartment they live in?

a cute and quick read! it wasn't super festive but that's okay because it IS called "monica adams SKIPS christmas" after all ahahaha i enjoyed it and quickly loved the characters, i only wish it could have been longer as i was becoming invested! i would recommend if you're looking for a short and easy read to get you in the winter mood, or maybe just to help you hit that end of the year reading goal ;)

Many thanks to NetGalley and XPresso Book Tours for the digital ARC copy!

Reading this felt like waking up on Christmas morning and snuggling under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate. Such a cute and cozy Christmas novella. I loved the bisexual representation. I think I would have loved to learn more about Paige’s life and I could easily see this novella being turned into a full length novel.

This was very cute but I think it would have fared well as a full novel rather then a novella. I did find that a lot of the descriptions felt very flat and lost me quite a bit. There was also a very heavy reliance on dialogue, and the writing there WAS, it was very bland and heavy descriptions. All that aside if was a cute one sitting read that had me smiling quite a bit.
