Am I the only one still waiting for this book to come out, like 5 years later. It better be coming and it better be the best one out of all the books in the series. Colleen Houck, We're watching and waiting.

...

3 stars?

Ive finished this book finally, after waiting years for it come out, literally like half a decade, and it wasnt what i expected. I didnt enjoy it as much as i hoped i would, it wasnt the story i wanted to read about.

The ending was actually sad. The last 20 pages i think.

And poor Kadam, he is such a pure and genuine soul, like he is honestly the best character and person. The poor man sacrificed so much for Ren, Kishan, everything.

I didnt like this book nearly as much or the others or nearly as much as i expected. In fact it was more of a disappointment. It is long, really long, and i think unnecessarily so because it is repetitive of what has already happened. For the majority of the book, Kishan and Ana were the most annoying characters out. And this whole time loop shit is confusing in itself, and its a plotline i generally dont even like much bc wtf its so depressing and weird.

My notes while reading:

Ana + kishan 'romance':
I have never read characters as annoying as these effing too. It literally takes them 650-700 pgs to finally effing understand that they are meant to be together and get married and love each other and kiss and what not. It basically takes for effing ever for their romance to blossom. And not only did they annoy the fk out of me all the time, they got mad at each other every 3 seconds SIMPLY BC THEY WOULD CUT EACH OTHER OFF AND NOT LET THE OTHER EXPLAIN FOR GODS SAKE.
LIKE STOP COMING UP WITH CONCLUSIONS WITHIN ENTERTING A CONVERSATION LIKE JUST STFU. Omg.

Length/repetitive: it is unnecessarily wrong and the author could have just given a really quick summary of what ana and kishan did rather than literally repeat everything that happened in the previous books
with the quests and shit. Like it was rereading from a slightly different perspective. It was boring and unnecessarily lengthy. The book didnt need to be 800 pgs.

Boring/new parts: all the parts that are repeated scenes, basically of the last books, are actually so boring to read and annoying to get past. It makes it harder to read and finish the book.
The new parts aka a plot that isnt repeated and a story new to tigers dream (for example when we read about ana's past, something we havent read before. That was actually really interesting and i got through it fast.

Confusing to think about- the whole time loop shit also just messes with ur brain

Not what we wanted/also plot of the story is unclear as in like why they do what they do, the point of basically creating the tigers curse and all the obsticles that weve read about in the series is unexplained and therefore confusing. Like i had to think about it for a moment to figure our that i assume all this was done on purpose to defeat the bad guy aka lokesh. Like idk but how effing confusing.

Positives:
It is pretty easy to read (like read faster) when something interesting is happening thats new to the story of the tiger world. Those parts were interesting.

I am disappointed for the most part.

And the ending was pretty sad, the very ending, idk like idk its sad i dont like it.

The book was a bit long and I think if I didn't have nostalgia and the love of the previous books, I wouldn't have made through all 800 pages. But my love for Kishan and desire for him to get a happy ending is strong.
I appreciated how it wrapped the whole series together.
The last chapter and epilogue absolutely made me bawl. The 4.0 stars are for that alone.

While it wasn't as good as the rest of the series, I appreciate that Kishan finally got an ending that didn't consist of him being shit on. The Tigers Curse series is kind of my guilty pleasure read. The only thing I really don't appreciate about this book is that IT'S NOT AVAILABLE IN HARDCOVER... I have the previous 4 books in Hardcover and I would love to have the set but nooooooo they never released a hardcover version for it :(

Hey guys, so, this has been a long time in the making, but I finally, finally, finally finished Tiger's Dream (The Tiger Saga #5) by Colleen Houck> Honestly, I have no words to describe how mind blowing this book was. Any of the usual adjectives I could use to detail the wonder that was this book simply fail to adequately define the magnificent essence of this novel. It was...it was out of this time, literally. It was exceptional, unforgettable, unimaginable, anything and everything, that is what this book was. It encompassed everything and anything that a book could. it was truly...just wow. I knew I would love this book, what I didnt sign up for was how it ripped and shattered and burned and brutalized my soul in unspeakable ways. Well...should I say, all this happened to poor Kishan, the main character of this book? I swear, this book just kept pounding and heaping my poor tiger with trial after trial. test after test, hardship ater hardship. And for what? Well...all these brutal events that threatened to tear a apart the very fabric of space and time served a purpose, for the most part. They all led Kishan on the most soulful, deep, resonating, searching, discovering journey of all his existence. It led him to basically reexamine everything he was and everything he hoped to be. I just wish there could have been an easier way to go about doing that. Guess not. My admiration and adoration for Kishan swelled during this novel, it boiled beyond the breaking point. I see him in a new light, a new perspective, and love him, all of him. Just as Ana does.
Okay, Ana who? Well....um.....I am not entirely sure I should tell you who she is and the impact she had on shaping the man Kishan was most destined to be. She is one of my favorite female characters. She had obstacles and trials and hardships to face in this book as well. She had to discern who she was and who she wanted to be as well. And together, they did. Together they achieved. TOgether they triumphed. TOgether, they ruled the world. Durga.....and her tiger. Hers. His. Theirs.
Another character that I grew even more fond of and garnered even more respect and affection for was....Oh wait...can I tell you? WOuld it spoil things? It certainly could....yikes...umm....well....I'll just say that he truly was the most loyal and undeniable man that the tigers could ever hope to have. He truly dedicated his life to them. In more ways than anyone could have thought. He deserved better. They all...deserved better.
Okay, I have to tell you guys, i was either in tears or fighting back tears for most of this book. And the ending...gods...it was tragic and beautiful at the same time. It was bitter. It was sweet. it was an ending...to end all endings. I just....it was so sad...so lovely....I just....*cries*
Im going to stop talking, more like rambling. Thank you guys if you read all the way to this point. But, if you did, then I strongly advise you to pick up this book if you have read the other tiger saga books. And if you havent read those, do so, in order for you to read this one! YOu wont regret it. Okay, until next time. Bye

I wish I didn’t learn this book existed. I loved the tigers curse series when I was a young teen but after reading reviews to recap I realized how problematic the series was. I still wanted to try this book but it was so cringy, poorly written, and Kishan was creepy and whiny. Real toxic masculinity with white saviorism and racial stereotypes and caricatures.

Wow!! Holy sh*t batman! This book deserves all the stars. My mind is blown and my soul has been crushed in the best way possible. How? When? What?! The absolute mastery of writing Colleen Houck exhibited in this book, as well as the series, is astounding! How this book wasn't written before the others, I have no idea. I just want Goddess Houck to stand before a stadium of the fans who have read this book and be applauded for hours. 👏👏 If you love stories of fantasy, romance, family drama, and action, pick up this series! I am in awe of this ending to end all endings. Bravo!! 👏👏👏👏👏

Those familiar with the other Tiger's Curse books will enjoy Tiger's Dream. This is Kishan's story told from before he even met Kelesy until the moment he gives her up and beyond. Kishan is making a life with Animika who is really the goddess, Durga, but he continues to pine for Kelsey even though he left her with Ren. When Kadam comes to Kishan disguised as Phet and tells him that Kelsey needs him, Kishan sees that there might be a chance for him with her after all. But what of his promise to be the consort of Animka and his growing fondness for her. The story gives fans all they will need to enjoy this last look into the lives of these characters.
I did think that some parts of this book were overly long and made points over again that had already been made. Also I was a little unhappy with the fact that most of this story makes Kelsey and Ren's journey seemed contrived by the gods just to give them something to do in order to lead them to this point in their lives. However the story did give background and further developed characters that played limited parts in the previous stories. Overall, this was a pretty good ending to a very good series.
