DNF. The whole book is just about two people who survived a trauma together that resulted in being toxic for each other. Being toxic is fine but the back and forth of that we shouldn’t be together because we are toxic but our need to fuck is too strong is a bit much.

I did enjoy this book. The push and pull between the two main characters was super good. It dealt with a lot of tough topics that made my heart ache.
Ultimately I think this book was just a bit too drawn out for me, and I lost interest in what was going to happen next. One of the side characters also made me cringe just a bit every time she talked, but I did enjoy the other characters in this book!

Holy hell, how is this a debut book? I actually read this out of order but it didn't stop me from enjoying it knowing what was going to happen in the future. If anything, it made me enjoy it even more getting the back story. Very and Jax. Holy titfire. These two...
This author is so talented. I'm gobsmacked at her artistry in how she crafts a sentence. Some of them bring joy, others are bittersweet, and some cur you to the quick, proving that words hurt more than physical things. I did have a few areas that u didn't understand such as why Jax made the deal he did. He could have gotten around that. I also isdnt understand why he left the way he did, with Brey and for music. However, those things didn't stop me from being in awe of a truly gifted writer. Everyone needs to keep an eye out for this up and coming star.
