Gorge (Allie’s bestie) and Quinn have a magic one night stand in Mexico only for him to not remember anything the day after and doing a no show but seven years later it all comes back.

Despite a few little awkward moments, I thought this had a real good story line seeing as it was a little hockey romance, about a 4-5 hour listen on Audible.

Georgie and Quinn were amazing once Georgie set aside her grudge. I liked how Quinn relaxed the full-court press when Georgie told him there was no way it would happen. I did appreciate Georgie's repenting when she discovered that things weren't as they seemed in the past.

emotional and angsty

An angsty and emotional read - George has a reason for hating Quinn the moment she sees him. He sees her and decides to change his player behavior.

This is more enemies to lovers than a second chance romance. George is determined she hates Quinn, but when a friend suggests she find out if her memories of him live up to real life the plan backfires epically.

When Slayers hockey player Quinn O'Brian first runs into Georgia "George" Bowen he knows this is it. She's the one for him. Thing is, she's not so quick to call it love at first sight. In fact it seems more like loathe at first sight. Quinn knows he has a reputation, but since meeting George all that has changed. He's not going anywhere. He's going to show her that he's a good man, that he just wants a chance.

When George runs into Quinn, the first thing that hits her is the fact that he doesn't remember who she is. That's right, George and Quinn have met before, and subsequently unceremoniously parted after a night spent together. While she doesn't want to go through that again, it's been seven years and she still can't seem to get Quinn out of her system. So maybe agreeing to go out with him will give her a chance to put the past to rest. Good idea. Until they both start falling for one another. Now, George can do nothing but think of the past and if it's secrets will influence their future.

The moment it becomes clear that Quinn and George have previously met, not only previously met but spent some up close and personal time together, I was hooked. It was this secret just looming in the background of the book that you knew was going to have huge influence on how things progress between Quinn and George. Mira Lyn Kelly played it all so well. And I think it all comes down to the fact that readers know Quinn is not that guy. You know, the one who loves them and leaves them, even with his reputation. So figuring out exactly what happened seven years ago really drove the story for me. While the developing feelings between Quinn and George tenuously held everything together. I say tenuously only because when there's secrets you know there will be consequences and those don't become apparent until towards the end.

One thing is I wish we could have gotten more glimpses of George and Quinn from before. Just a few more reminisces that would really hit home how truly effected George was by Quinn not remembering her. Yes, it would have been a tad more heartbreaking of a read, but I was here for the feels anyway.

Overall, it's a quick, surprisingly light read that really gets to the heart of the relationship between Quinn and George with ease. Their chemistry and attraction to one another is hot. Steamy moments aplenty, but I really loved the moments when we got to the heart of how they feel for one another.

There's of course a lot of set up for other players on the team to get their HEAs and I'm excited to see who is up next!

This book uses the same trope as the first in the series (second chance after a one-night stand), which was disappointing at first. But it is a very different plot and journey for Quinn and George. And I think it was also much steamier.

Loved it so much I read it in one sitting!!

An amazing story of second chances due to huge misunderstandings.

George & Quinn are so good together.

Mira Lyn Kelly can write some swoon-worthy men! While Vaughn is still my favorite (who can resist a grumpy hottie), Quinn is adorably and a close second, even though at first, I wasn't sure how the whole Mexico debacle was going to play out. And I admit, I got a bit frustrated with George and might have yelled some profanities at her during the confrontation with Pat, but she came luckily around.

And Christian Fox has quickly become one of my fave male narrators.
