This is my first book by this author. I’m not really into hockey but this was so much fun. I really enjoyed the relationship development and transition. I liked how both sides were willing to work through it AND how there was a plausible reason for previous actions and misunderstandings. The story as a whole was well written and engaging and edited. I enjoyed it enough to go find another by this author.

I received an ARC for a voluntary review.

Dirty Hookup is the second book in the Slayers Hockey series by the talented Mira Lyn Kelly. I've only recently discovered Mira (*hangs head in shame*) and I just have to say what an incredible writer she is. I'm a huge fan of hockey romances and Mira gives us all the things we want in a sports romance. Lust, humor, fun, sexiness and actual hockey! Quinn has always been a playboy, but he's not actually a bad guy. When he first sees George it's all stars and crazy thoughts about what a special moment it is until she opens her mouth and crushes his dreams. She really hates him. He's not one to back down from a challenge so he's going to work even harder to get George to see he's not the man she thinks he is. He has his work cut out for him! George hates him. But her body won't stop reacting to his. There's a pull she wants to deny, but she just can't. How is it possible to want someone so much when you can't stand them? Will Quinn be able to get through George's walls and find out why? Oh man! I loved this story! The sexiness, the push and the pull, the laughs! Quinn is so sweet and hot and sexy and George is hilarious and strong and independent. I love how she put her brothers in their place and is comfortable with who she is. Overall, I loved every word! I laughed a lot, shed a tear, got mad, got hot and bothered and smiled! Already looking forward to the next one!

Stupid eyes.
Stupid shoulders and muscles-everywhere body.
Stupid sandy blond hair standing up like some foolish girl had just had her hands in it for the last hour.

God, I hate him.
I hate how broad his shoulders are and how his mouth seems to be hooked in this perpetual half smile, like he’s always ready to laugh.

“God, I hate you,” she mutters, clear enough for me to hear, but probably not the rest of the table.
“You sure?” I ask, sitting back. “Because it kind of seems like you might like me. Just a little.”

But so we’re clear… this challenge? George, I’m coming for you. And sooner or later, you’re going like me. Just a little.”

Maybe it’s time I let the physical connection do some of the heavy lifting here. Instead of shutting that shit down because I’m trying to make sure she knows I’m interested in her and not just some dirty hookup.
