Not my cup of tea at all but an extra star for how nice it was to read irish dialect and think of my family!

Honestly, my hatred for working in the food industry and the smell of clothes after working around grease completely ruined this book for me. I probably could have found a great beauty and depth to this story, because I know it was there. It gave me Derry Girl vibes if the main characters were really lonely.

This audiobook was narrated by Nicola Coughlan, the one and only Clare in Derry Girls. I think that was my biggest draw to the book and it made listening to it 100% worth it. The story was reminiscent of Derry Girls, a young girl stuck in her Northern Irish town. However, where Derry Girls makes you laugh, buoyed by it’s lively group of young people, this book stays a bit glum but still worth a read.
