Another masterpiece (imo) courtesy of M.L. Wang. She is so good at writing in a fantasy setting while including super relevant social issues and moral dilemmas that leave you with a lot to think about!
I was pretty intrigued by the magic system, especially with how there was a logic/coding/math aspect to it (although I don't think you need to be a "math person" to appreciate it). As a mathematician myself (and yes - I read the jabs at mathematicians in the book lol), I am probably in the minority but I would have been interested to see more of the spells and language with how they were worded to accomplish the results.
