Without a doubt, this is Lauren Blakely's best book to date. I would give it 6 stars if I could. It held me captive and I could not put it down. I knew it would though, being a Lauren Blakely book, it was fait accompli.

Nicole Powers is a talk back radio announcer and writer of all things relating to woman and sex. She is the guru Manhattan and beyond tune into for advice. To make her world complete, she would love a little bundle of joy. All she needs is some baby batter. She is hoping that might be made available by her co worker at the station, Ryder Lockhart. He has all the qualities that she has been looking for, especially the non commitment part.

The Consummate Wingman, aka Ryder, has been burnt in a past relationship and is not looking for love. He needs to up his game at work, and not let his dark mood affect his career. He feels the deal he strikes up with Nicole can only be worthwhile for both of them. He just didn't know it would be so gratifying.

There was so much I loved about this book. It flowed brilliantly from each stage they endured. It felt natural and realistic. I held my breath at some parts, was guttered with others. I laughed and sniffled and smiled the whole way through. It wasn't all about pleasing the woman, it was a balance of both of them achieving happiness. I think this is so important in being partners in life. You will not only love Ryder as your next BBF, because he is so yummy 🤤 , but will cherish Nicole just as much. Highly recommend this dual POV, friends to lovers book.

Another solid fun trashy romance by Lauren Blakely. Both funny and hot, I enjoyed the journey these two took to admitting their love for one another.
Being a dog person I liked the fact they both had pooches and that little added detail made me enjoy the book more.
Always a guarantee that there will be well written steamy scenes and Blakely delivers again.

THE KNOCKED UP PLAN, written by Lauren Blakley and narrated by Sebastian York, and Andi Arndt, was the perfect summer romantic comedy.  I love "arrangement" tropes, and Blakely delivered. Miscommunication, adorable pets, and two flawed characters had me devouring this in two listens.

Coffee Dates with The Knocked Up Plan

First Date: Blakely introduces us to co-workers Nicole and Ryder. These two enjoy a great friendship and have mutual respect for one another.  Both host radio talk shows where listeners dial in to talk about sex, love, and relationships. Nicole and Ryder are both likable characters with funny, confident on-air personalities. However, when it comes to love and committed relationships both have issues.  Nicole has made a decision to have a baby on her own. After researching sperm banks, she decides to ask Ryder to donate his sperm. Thus begins their plan to skip the sperm bank and make a baby the old fashion way. The chemistry between them was sizzling, but this is strictly an arrangement with legally binding contracts. Oh yeah, we all know how this is gonna play out! With York and Arndt narrating I am all in.

Second Date: We get to see previous characters from Blakley's books and friends of the four-legged variety. The middle of the story is all about making the baby, spending time together and it is hot, funny and delicious with lots of swoony moments and sizzling scenes. It is clear the two are attracted to the other, and the chemistry is off the chart.  They build a friendship beyond work mates and slowly they form an emotional attachment. I loved them together as Blakely did an excellent job of allowing me to connect. Once the deed is done, the two go back to being friends but both miss the other, and I loved how Blakley created moments and built things up.

Third Date: With the"arrangement" trope nothing goes according to the plan. Now, these two have feelings, and No One is Talking! *pulls out hair* While I never doubted the outcome I was curious to see how Blakely would bring it all about and dang miscommunication aside she nailed it. Forget the outside world I listened until the bitter end in one sitting. I laughed, pulled my hair in frustration and wanted to knock some heads. Thankful Blakley knows just how to get me engaged without overdoing it and soon I was left grinning like a dork.

Narration: York and Arndt are magic together. They both captured the personalities of the hero and heroine while enhancing the story from snark to swoons.

Five Reasons You Should Listen To This Audiobook...

1. Nicole is a fabulous heroine; she is strong and sassy, somebody you would love to be friends with.
2.Ryder was fabulous as well, a strong man with a vulnerable side.
3. The two of them together were fantastic, love the banter, love the chemistry, loved the dogs.
4. Lauren Blakely, nobody writes a better romantic comedy.
5. Sebastian York and Andy Arnt, whenever I see an audiobook is narrated by this pair it is an auto purchase, fantastic narrators!

This was an ok read ... and I was hoping for more than ok. I was hoping to spend a nice, fun and light moment.

Obviously I was not expecting a profound romance but this was too much of the caricature of a romance novel, which would still be ok if it was funny and if the characters were great but I never got hooked so I had to force myself to go on ... hence the "ok read" status.

5 Papaya CROWNS

5 Reasons you should read every single book Lauren Blakely publishes:

1. Her heroes are to die for. Sexy and swoony, these men have a way with words and skills in the bedroom.
2. Her heroines are often independent forces. None of her ladies need man. They will take a man, but they most certainly don't need one.
3. Her stories are always light and fun, perfect for a sunny beach day or afternoon on the deck.
4. Her writing is always on point; it is witty, funny, and entertaining.
5. The woman can write a steamy sex scene like few can, and with how fast she writes, it still always seems fresh and original.

Lauren Blakely continues to deliver romantic comedy gold. With the perfect balance of steamy heroes, lovable heroines, and comedy. She hits gold every time.

Ryder and Nicole are a fantastic couple. Starting as co-workers, these two bypass that awkward getting to know each other stage. They have a pre-established comfort with each other that translates to great conversation and bantering between the two. This chemistry transfers to the bedroom as soon as they agree to get knocked up. As always, the physical intimacy between the two is off the charts and sets the sheets on fire. As the story develops, though, these two co-workers turned friends begin to become much more, and watching them fall in love is sweet.

The Knocked Up Plan is the comedic, romantic, and steamy, combining to create a true romance. Lauren Blakely takes the reader on the journey with the couple. We get to see the transition through each stage of their relationship, and as we do, readers are helpless to fall in love with Ryder and Nicole. Readers will also enjoy that she doesn't follow the traditional baby romance plot-line, and they will love how she resolves their romance and ends to the story. It really is perfect.

Lauren Blakely never disappoints, and The Knocked Up Plan falls into the category of must reads. Fun and romantic, it is the perfect escape.
