The Long Walk sticks with me. It's ugly, but so appealing. I tend to really like King's short story collections and just sort of like his novels. This is more like the former than the latter.
In terms of individual books:
Rage: Definitely an early work by King, but kind of interesting, if you can stomach the school shooting-centric plot (and if you can find a copy, being that King has let it go out of print).
The Long Walk: An actual masterpiece, something that could easily have been published as a full-on King novel rather than one of the Bachman books. A long, unending scream of a book.
Roadwork: Just so-so, easily the most half-baked of all of these.
The Running Man: Somewhat interesting, but also half-baked and feeling kind of like a rehash of parts of The Long Walk (and those aren't parts Running Man finds a way to improve on).
Overall: interesting, but not necessary unless you're a King completionist. Seek out The Long Walk and skip the rest.

I actually only read The Long Walk, but I'm intruiged by descriptions of The Running Man. I'm not sure what to say about it; it was compelling, definitely, but I was a little dissatisfied with the ending. I, well, I mean, I'm not sure you could have been satisfied with--it's such an uncomfortable book to read. What I mean is, I wanted to know more. How did the world get to this place, how did The Walk start, how would the tradition of The Walk end?
I don't want to read it again, but I can't stop thinking about it, either.

4⭐ for Rage
5⭐ for The Long Walk
2⭐ for Roadwork
5⭐ for The Running Man
Wow. I really loved The Running Man & The Long Walk. The Hunger Games has nothing on these. Rage was good and very interesting, but rambled on for a bit. Roadwork was just boring AF. I wish that The Long Walk & The Running Man were actual lengthy books.

This has 4 stories in one book. My favorite to least favorite are: The Long Walk, The Running Man, Rage, and Roadwork.
Giving this collection three stars is rounding up. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the other Bachman works.
