This book is a ride. Lots of angst and drama. I found it worth the read and really felt for the characters at times. Most of the conflict is due to not communicating but for pretty decent reasons. Ninety-nine percent of this book is from Alana's POV. This would have been a five star read if we had Trevor's POV too. Please note: Trevor is Irish and he is called derogatory names throughout the book. Historically accurate but offensive nonetheless.
Moderate: Racial slurs, Forced institutionalization, and Racism
