beautiful artwork. Describes various types of feathers, comparing them to human tools.

Wonderful book to use as a read aloud for nonfiction. There is a simple text that you can read that tells a little about ways feathers help birds. Then, there is supplemental information in sidebars that details exactly how birds pictured use feathers in many different ways. It was fun guessing the types of bird feathers on the first page. Some of the birds are a bit lesser know (to me, at least).

A very simple, yet engaging, book about different feathers and how they help the bird who has them. I learned a lot of new information, which, at my age, is always cool. This book could be enjoyed out loud or independently.

Very nice non-fiction picture book about feathers and birds with clear, short informative text and nice watercolor illustrations with trompe l’oiel to look like a naturalists scrapbook.

So cool. Loved the scrapbook style illustrations and the comparison between feathers and common objects (like sleds, sponges, sunblock, etc.). Concise and engaging text. A definite read aloud.
