katieanne4's review against another edition
Some books work for me and some don't. This one did. The previous one that didn't was "just a bit twisted" which I started immediately before this. And this was like alpha werewolf shifter stuff but it felt so much more realistic, like emotionally? Cartoonishly evil villains aside.
Anyway, will probably read more from this series. Smut was on point.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ (balanced spice/plot ratio, a handful of descriptive sex scenes, no intense kinks)
Gay werewolf Brook has a chronic illness and an emotionally abusive family. He makes a contract with “straight” alpha werewolf Dimitri to mate in order to benefit Brook’s career.
1st person, Brook’s perspective

That was kind of brutal, and vaguely problematic. I've got a head cannon that Demitri lied when he said he was completely straight, cause otherwise this plot doesn't really work for me. I almost want to add a content warning for sexism to cover the way Brook was treated for not being an alpha. It's some sort of -ism anyway and difficult to read.
Despite all that, I really loved the MCs, both separately and as a couple. And their HEA gave me all the warm fuzzys.
