Really liked this series. However, I hated Andreus from the start and... that hatred was too deep to ever forgive

I enjoyed this book so much! I read it all in one day it was so addicting. Andreus and Carys change so much over the course of the novel. Not only do their personal views change, but as truths from the previous book come to light the twins come to realize the truth about each other’s actions (Andreus mainly realized how stupid and foolish he was regarding his sister).

Andreus faces many challenges as the newly crowned king, but with the Council of Elders breathing down his neck, he lacks actually power. With the lights and wind acting out he has even more problems, especially with the his mother giving orders, and hiding crucial facts behind his back. As truths come to light involving the curse, his “love” Imogen, and the actual causation of his brother and father’s death, Andreus has to makes decisions about who to trust with his life.
Meanwhile Carys is faced with difficult decisions regarding her own life, especially as her kingdom mourns her death. Traveling with Errik, Garret, and Larkin she has to decide who to trust. If she can ever trust again after her only confidant betrayed her. Carys’ life becomes even more difficult by her withdrawal from the Tears of Midnight and the awakening of her frightening abilities. Soon she has to learn to put faith in the wind, and rid herself of fear and anger or else she’ll cause suffer to others and herself. She learns the truth about the seers and the truth about herself.

This novel is well written and kept me hooked! A romantic relationship with both Errik and Garret are proposed, but only one becomes reality. Though the love interest is introduced it does not outweigh the important of family. Throughout this novel Carys and Andreus are faced with many challenges both internal and external. They must fight the monsters standing in front of them, the villains masked in shadow, and their inner demons. While fighting for both their own lives and the lives of others, the twins must decide who to trust. Family is very important in this novel, but family is more than just blood.

This book picks up immediately following the ending of Dividing Eden. Andreus is now King of Eden and everyone believes his twin Carys is dead. Carys is actually on the run and as the days pass, her newly discovered powers grow. As both Andreus and Carys uncover the deception of everyone around them, the must learn who they can trust. With a shocking revelation and an ending I wasn’t expecting, this was a satisfying conclusion to the story.

Wow can I first say this is just leagues better than its predecessor. Maybe it’s the addition of the two novellas. Maybe it’s getting the chance to fall deeper into this world. But it was so much easier to connect to the characters in this novel than before and thus just a much more cohesive and wonderful experience. I do recommend diving back into this world, the redemption is there even if you didn’t love the first novel.

This series does not get enough credit at all.....

This second book was amazing. There is fighting, friendship, a couple of questionable love interests, twists, turns and it's almost like you are playing clue because your trying to figure out who will be responsible for the actions taken.

You will have heart ache and love in this book. A few shockers also that will make you want to skim to find the ending, but don't do it, it's 100% worth it.

I truly hope she adds one more book to this series because I need more Errik. I need to know what will happen and how. I don't care if she just makes it about those two I just need to know!

I loved this book! I liked the first one better but this was great as well. I loved that Andreus finally figured out what was going on and that he was set up for failure from the beginning. I hated Garrett and how he betrayed Carys but I'm glad he got what he deserved. I love that she is able to make it back to her brother and warm him of the danger they were both in. I love that they once again team up to defeat their mother and restore peace to the kingdom. 10 stars!

Eden Conquered is a compelling read containing political intrigue, betrayals, confessions, and self discovery, wrapped up in a dark, beckoning cover.
