It's as if this was the third novel in the series, not the second. It skipped all the things that I wanted to read about happening after the end of Dune and just glossed over it as like a quick past tense summary in less than a paragraph. The was all this foreshadowing in Dune about this great Jihad coming and then Dune Messiah starts out after the Jihad is already over!
