Never before has a book given me sooo many feels as this book did! I have also never cried at the end of a book but this one...had actual stinging tears in my eyes. I read this in November, just before the festive season and it was the perfect most cozy read for this time of year!

It was such a beautiful, heart-breaking, heart-warming and fuzzy story. I loved all the characters in this book and Ove reminded me of a certain grumpy old man in my own life! This book was full of laughter and unique situations, full of tear-jerking back stories and memories. I also loved how it featured a cat in the cast of characters! This book would not have been the same without that cat!

I highly highly recommend this book to all! This was my first Fredrik Backman book and so glad I picked it up as definitely plan to read more of his works!

Ummmm. I just spend 15 minutes finishing this book and sobbing because it was so good and cute and made me feel every feel that exists.

Almost as soon as I started this book I felt the undeniable love for Ove that every person who has read this feels.

He is the most endearing and beautiful character. His story will break your heart, piece it back together, and then do it all again.

An immediate favourite. I will be recommending this to everyone. Really clever writing. In one chapter the purchases of cars is used as a vehicle to illustrate the passage of time (unintentional pun there), and it’s wonderful. (Made me cry.)

I bawled in this book - too many times to count. And once I’d finished I sobbed for a good half-hour.

Please do your self a favour and read it, it’s heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. You will not regret it.

This books pulled at my heart strings. It made me chuckle at Ove’s grumpiness but also made me incredibly sad when there were flashbacks to his marriage. It was a heartwarming read that I’d definitely recommend.

I think I understand what the story is about, but I never quite warmed to Ove. The whole book felt pretentious, full of clichés masked as pieces of life wisdom. I loved Anxious People but I almost abandoned this one several times, and I'm not sure it was worth finishing.
