It's been a number of years since I read the first book in this duology (which I remember I loved), but after catching up on the plot (thank you, Wiki fandom pages), I was ready for a ride.
Perhaps because I listened to this as an audiobook that the first half kept escaping me. I would re-listen to chapters and entire section multiple times (just means I'll have to read it again!). However, the last third was a reading sprint. I was absolutely encapsulated by the characters, plot, and romance until the very end.
