I really loved this Duology.

We start this book really intensely, the zumra found the book and the hearts, but lost one of the hearts and Altair (who it turns out, is the Lion's SON)
There is just a lot of miscommunication and misunderstandings that drive this book

1. Altair thinks his team left him vs. his team left quickly and didn't leave him on purpose
2. Nasir loves Zafira, Zafira loves Nasir, why can't they just admit it
3. Altair vs the Zumra and where loyalties lie
4. Zafira and her bestie
5. Zafira and the book vs everyone else
6. The lion and his trauma vs making it everyone else's problem

They have a new goal, restore the hearts, restore magic, kill the lion

Also, I will not forgive this author for making me think that Zafira DIED, and then made me read Nasir's POV. I clocked it that he was an emo boy but letting him love and then doing this to him SUCKS!! (for my heart)

I really liked Lana's role in this book, and the overall growth of the characters.

I would love to read more about this world, and as we only get a glimpse of Nasir and Zafira at the end, I wish we had more.. but the tension and the pining was part of the journey.

He would take the stars from the sky and fashion them into a crown, if only she would have it.

This book, this duology was everything.

It was funny, thrilling, emotional, sad and hopefull all at once and I truly felt like I was sucked into the world of Arawiya.
The zumra, Yasmine and Lana grew so close to my heart and after I finished reading, I was left empty because of how much I loved it!

Hafsah Faizal has truly become one of my favourite authors.
