I went through all the emotions with this book and I'm gonna need a minute to piece myself back together. Everything I loved about We Hunt the Flame was heightened and expanded on in this one and I utterly loved it! Faizal's writing is stunning and these characters are among my favourites of all time. Reading this book reminded me of why I fell in love with books so deeply - this series is absolutely on my favourites list!

i really liked the aesthetic and vibe of this book and might have finished it just for the vibe but I was so confused constantly in various parts of this book. the first one was really good and imo better, but that might just be my younger, less-experienced self. It was also so slow there wasnt the need for that many pages, honestly.

Faizals writing is gorgeous. It took me longer than normal to get through the beginning of the book but once I hit the 50% (Act 2) I was hooked. A brilliant author with a writing style I won’t soon forget

I truly enjoyed this book. The world spun by Faizal only got better with the second book. The romance remained in the background like with the first book, but it did become slightly more of a focal point. Speaking of the romance, OH MY GOD. SO GOOD. Anyway, read this book like yesterday.
